We offer all of our learners the opportunity to receive confidential and impartial information, advice and guidance. Our partners Work and Thrive Newcastle can help you to identify your career goals so that you can meet your full potential. They also offer a wide range of support services.

Work and Thrive Newcastle can help you:

  • develop a career plan
  • search and apply for jobs
  • write CVs, covering letters, application forms
  • improve interview techniques
  • gain work experience and volunteering opportunities in the local area
  • meet with employers, universities and training providers
  • attend careers fairs and events

We will also work with employers and curriculum managers to coordinate, provide and deliver courses to local workforces in order to meet their training needs.

Careers information for 16 - 19 year olds

The Careers and Guidance Team offers impartial and confidential careers information, advice and support to young people up to the age of 19 without an Education Health and Care Plan (EHC plan) and up to 25 for those with an EHC plan, if you live in Newcastle or attend a Newcastle school.

Labour Market Information

Labour Market Information (LMI) informs us of new developments and jobs within a particular geographic area. It helps us explore careers, industries and businesses that operate in that area. You may find the links below useful;

LMI for All is an online data portal, developed by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills and currently funded by the Department for Education, which brings together existing national sources of high quality labour market information that can inform people’s choices about their careers.

Nomis is a service provided by the Office for National Statistics, ONS, to give you free access to the most detailed and up-to-date UK labour market statistics from official sources, where you can get the Labour Market Profile for Newcastle upon Tyne.
