Work with us to offer an apprenticeship

Apprenticeships are a great way to grow your business and your workforce.  Through the levy, the government offer is to fund potentially all the training costs for a new member of staff or a training programme to upskill your existing team.  The apprenticeship ‘standards’ are designed by employers to equip employees with the most relevant skills in their industry.

At Newcastle City Learning, we deliver bespoke programmes that can help you reach your business objectives.

If you would like to talk through an opportunity you have for a new role, or to learn more about upskilling your team, please contact our apprenticeship business development officer Andrea Satterthwaite. To do so:

We understand the true value of having motivated, valued and engaged employees who are aligned to company values, feel valued as an employee and want to achieve and move with the change and growth of your business.

Using the apprenticeship levy to upskill your present workforce, or train new staff is essential to ensure people have the right skills to unlock the capabilities of your business.

We have an experienced team working at Newcastle City Learning who can support you throughout the process of employing an apprentice.  We also have a wealth of knowledge in supporting staff when upskilling your present workforce.

We deliver bespoke advice and guidance that will not only enhance your workforce but support the transformation of your business in becoming more productive and successful.

Employing or upskilling a member of staff will be a seamless process when working with Newcastle City Learning.  We will work with you to identify the skill requirements of your business and the job role, ensuring that the ‘standard’ matches the roles and responsibilities required.

The Apprenticeship Levy

Funding for apprenticeships sits within the Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS).  You can get help from the government to pay for apprenticeship training.

For more information about the funding available for your business see:

The Apprenticeship Levy can be used not just to train new employees but also to develop and upskill your existing staff.

This provides an opportunity to continue skills development to employees, increasing productivity, motivation and retention.

The off the job element of the apprenticeship requires the staff member to undertake training outside of the workplace.

This takes place at Westgate College. We will work with you as the employer, the apprentice and one of our experienced team to create a training plan, covering the skills required to complete the programme, including the End Point Assessment.
